The Rotary Safari for WASH Fellowship kicks off its maiden adventure with an unforgettable three-day safari experience to Mweya in Kasese District, featuring two of Uganda’s most iconic national parks: Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth.
This isn’t just a trip—it’s a journey with purpose. Designed for Rotarians and friends of Rotary who are passionate about travel and service, this safari combines breathtaking wildlife encounters with a commitment to improving WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) in Uganda’s public primary schools.
With a target of 50 participants (Safari Buddies), this experience offers the perfect balance of adventure, fellowship, and philanthropy—all for just UGX 600,000 per person (sharing basis).

Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Friday – The Journey Begins
7:00 AM: Departure from Hotel Africana, Kampala
Stop at the Equator for iconic photo moments
Continue to Lake Mburo National Park, lunch in Mbarara
Scenic stopover at Rubirizi for panoramic views
Arrive in Mweya, check into your accommodation
Evening: Relax, enjoy dinner, and join the Kimeeza (campfire conversations)
Day 2: Saturday – Wildlife & Waterways
6:00 AM: Early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Expect to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, and more!
11:00 AM: Return to lodge, breakfast & rest
2:00 PM: Enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lake George and Lake Edward
Look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and countless birds
Evening: Dinner by the campfire, fellowship, and official Rotary Safari for WASH briefing
Group reflections, evaluation, and setting the stage for the next safari destination
Day 3: Sunday – Farewell for Now
8:00–10:00 AM: Leisurely breakfast
10:30 AM: Group photo session with all Safari Buddies
Departure for Kampala with lasting memories and a shared commitment to the cause
